Safety & Compliance
Safe Food Certification
JD Refrigerated Transport is Safe Food Certified such that all drivers and other team members operate under a Food Safety Program which ensures food safety is maintained at all times. The program is based on Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles and begins with mapping out our entire supply chain, identifying the critical control points and implementing appropriate checks and measures that assist in ensuring product quality throughout. It also provides corrective action in the event that any issues are detected. Such a system not only helps to limit the number of things that can go wrong, but it also saves money and enhances customer confidence in our business.
JD Refrigerated Transport meets the requirements for a Food Safety Program as required for accreditation under the Food Production (Safety) Act 2000 and is audited annually by Safe Food QLD to ensure it is maintained.
Company OH&S Policy
JD Refrigerated Transport is committed to ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for all of its employees. The health and welfare of employees, contractors and visitors is of the highest priority in everything that the company does.
We believe that all work related injuries and property loss is preventable and that working safe is good business. We believe there is no more important factor in the undertaking of one’s job than the prevention of injury.
Think Safe, Act Safe, Be Safe.
Chain of Responsibility (CoR)
Chain of Responsibility (CoR) legislation recognises that on-road behaviour and outcomes are often influenced by people other than the driver. Under the legislation, any person in the chain with power to control, influence, prevent or encourage on-road behaviours has a duty of care to ensure transport activities are safe.
Currently, CoR covers three sets of regulations: mass, dimension and loading obligations, speed compliance and fatigue management. In October 2018, amendments to heavy vehicle law extend to include vehicle standards and maintenance.
JD Refrigerated Transport has implemented a Safety Management System designed to proactively identify and manage the risks inherent in transport and warehousing activities. We will also continue to educate our team, clients and suppliers to ensure that we maintain our strong safety record.
